Music House Hutong, Beijing

Meeting Place in Old Beijing

The new building was conceived as a music house able to function on a wide variety of levels: from a recording studio to a venue showcasing music related events and performances.

From the outside, the entire building appears as two volumes joined together. The lower volume is six metres high and its unique roof is reminiscent of the sloping eaves of ancient hutongs, while the upper volume functions as a neutral background.
